The Delta Air Lines flight from Los Angeles to Nashville on Friday had to land in Albuquerque urgently following an incident on board.
According to US media, a passenger attempted to enter the cockpit shortly after takeoff. After leaving his seat, he rushed to the front of the aircraft and started knocking on the door that separated him from the pilot.
Fortunately, a passenger intervened and managed to subdue the individual, with the help of the crew members.
Images disseminated on social networks show that the hands and feet of the “assailant” were tied. He was then taken to the back of the plane. He shouted “Stop this plane” several times, according to witnesses.
The man is not known to the police and we do not yet know what prompted him to act in this way. Once the plane was on the ground, he was arrested by the FBI. No one was injured but several passengers were shocked.
The plane was able to continue its journey a few hours later.
