Fluid mechanics is a branch of physics that studies the behavior of liquids, gases and plasmas. To describe the general motion of a fluid, hydrodynamicists use the Navier-Stokes equations. Who are so named in honor of two scientists of the XIXe century, the French mathematician Henri Navier and the English physicist George Gabriel Stokes.

Particularly difficult, analogous to the F = ma equality in physics, these famous equations also apply in other fields such as meteorology, the study of ocean currents, airplane fuselages and even video games. Their difficulty is that they are differential equations containing non-linear terms – we can find them on their Wikipedia page, reading however not recommended for those who are discouraged by mathematical language.
