  • Samsung will probably equip the Galaxy S22 with different processors again.
  • The first benchmarks of the different variants are now circulating online.

Samsung could also go back to a 2-chip strategy for the Galaxy S22. Both the in-house Exynos 2200 and the Qualcomm chip Snapdragon 8 Gen1 should be used. The first benchmark results of both model variants are now circulating online.

According to Gizchina, these were discovered in the Geekbench database. Here you will find several results for the Samsung cell phone “SM-S908B”, behind which the Exynos variant is supposed to hide, as well as for the model “SM-S901U”, behind which the Snapdragon model is supposed to hide.

There is no clear winner in comparison. The Snapdragon model tends to be ahead in the single-core test. Here it achieves around 200 points more than the Exynos model. In the multi-core test, both variants are mostly the same at around 3,300 points, but the Exynos 2200 sometimes has a slight advantage here.

Is the chip duel cancelled?

It remains to be seen which chipset will ultimately come out on top. Because in addition to the pure computing power, heat development and other factors also play a role. In recent years, the Snapdragon model has mostly been seen by fans as the better variant.

It also remains unclear whether Samsung really sticks to the 2-chip strategy. Rumors are circulating that the company will ship the Galaxy S22 with Snapdragon chip worldwide due to the difficulties encountered in production with the new Exynos chip.
