The Honor brand had been quiet since its takeover, but it should quickly come back into the light. It is indeed on Wednesday June 16 that the firm will unveil the three new smartphones that make up its Honor 50 range. We will therefore be entitled to a standard model and two Pro and Pro + versions. A nomenclature now known in the industry.
For the occasion, she even split a small trailer broadcast on the social network Sina Weibo. The latter allows us to stealthily glimpse the devices in question. For once, the manufacturer seems to want to highlight the originality of the photo module.
A major challenge
This series of smartphones represents an important challenge in the history of the firm. It marks the return of Google services to the brand’s devices. Since her separation from Huawei, which is still under US sanctions and is preparing to launch HarmonyOS very soon, she has been able to recover the Android license.
But this new independence comes at a cost. Honor can now no longer source Kirin SoCs as before. These are produced by HiSilicon, which is owned by Huawei. It was therefore necessary to turn to the American Qualcomm. It is also the Snapdragon 778G that will equip the basic version of the Honor 50, but we can expect to go upmarket (with a Snapdragon 888 for example) on the more premium versions. There are only fifteen days left to wait to be definitively fixed.
