As E3 2021 slowly but steadily continues to approach, rumors of any announcements that may take place there continue to multiply. However, as we have seen with the recent presentations of Horizon Forbidden West, Dying Light 2 or Far Cry 6, some publishers do not hesitate to take the lead. This also applies to Nintendo, which notably devoted a period of communication to Sonic on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the franchise. And as Bloomberg told us last week, the Japanese firm could also take a little head start with the announcement of its famous Nintendo Switch Pro, which would be done before the event to make room for game announcements later.
Journalist Takashi Mochizuki, to whom we owe this information, vaguely stated that the announcement was imminent, which many other sources seem to corroborate. It is now the turn of an insider, Shpeshal_Nick, to add a little fuel to the fire by declaring that the official announcement of the Nintendo Switch Pro is currently scheduled for this Thursday, June 3. He nevertheless asserts that the event “Has been rejected before”, so that it is not impossible that it is again. Of course, as always with this kind of information, it should be taken with the necessary tweezers.. However, that’s starting to get a lot of different sources agreeing that the announcement would be more than imminent.
In the meantime, the console has also briefly appeared on Amazon Mexico under the name of “New Nintendo Switch Pro”, before being immediately withdrawn by the sign. And as much to say that it would not be the first time that the latter leaked an announcement shortly before it officially took place. Either way, we should be fixed by the end of the week if all goes according to plan, with E3 2021 starting next week. As a reminder, Bloomberg claimed that production of the Nintendo Switch Pro, which would eventually replace the current Nintendo Switch, would begin in July for marketing in September-October 2021. Other rumors, however, have pointed to a release in November in recent days.
