The Facebook-owned messaging platform is currently working on an update of its picture-in-picture mode, which would make WhatsApp easier to use when owners of an Android smartphone are using other apps.
Thanks to this mode, it is possible to keep an eye on your conversations and watch videos sent from Instagram, Facebook or even YouTube, without leaving the chat. According to information from WABetaInfo, relayed by PhonAndroid, the picture-in-picture will experience significant improvements.
Until then, to put the video on the big screen or on pause, it was necessary to press the media currently playing. After this new update, which will arrive first in beta version 126.96.36.199, a new control bar will allow easier access to these interactions while adding “Watch later” and “Share” options. These new features do not apply to iOS users, who do not have access to the picture-in-picture mode.
