The big day is drawing near for the télescope spatial James-Webb ! The Nasa, l’THIS and Cnes announced the arrival of the new mastodon of astronomical observation on October 12 in the French port of Pariacabo, in Guyana. The instrument had been loaded aboard a massive freighter in Redondo Beach, California, before going to sea for 16 days. The boat has reached the east coast of South America passing through the Panama Canal.

After years of delay, the launch of James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) will take place on December 18, 2021 from the base in Kourou, Guyana. It will take off thanks to a Ariane 5 rocket and will be sent to point de Lagrange L2, 1.5 million kilometers from Earth, after a trip in the space of a month. The telescope will be operational in early 2022.
