Now insider Tom Henderson has thrown a date into the room that should look familiar to fans.

GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition: Insider wants to know the release date – fans already know him

According to Henderson, GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition will be released on November 11, 2021. Wait, wasn’t there something else? Yes, Rockstar originally wanted to release the Enhanced & Expanded version of GTA 5 on November 11th. However, this was postponed to March 2022. This means that November 11th is free again and could definitely be used for the GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition. Until the developer from New York officially confirms the release of the GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition, fans should not focus on November 11th.

Update from October 9th, 2021: The cat is out of the bag. After months of uncertainty, Rockstar Games has now announced the GTA Remastered Trilogy. Officially, the compilation of the three GTA classics goes by the somewhat bulky name Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition. As already suspected, the trilogy includes the following three titles from the developer from New York:

  • GTA 3 – Originally released on October 22, 2001
  • GTA: Vice City – Originally released on October 27, 2002
  • GTA: San Andreas – Originally released on October 26, 2004

Rockstar Games also donated a first trailer for the GTA Remastered Trilogy to fans as part of the announcement. In less than 24 hours, it already reached a million views via YouTube. But the developer left one important question unanswered: When will the Remastered Trilogy actually be released? The only thing known about the release so far is that it will take place in 2021. The following platforms can look forward to the new edition:

  • PS4
  • PS5
  • Xbox One
  • Xbox Series X
  • PC
  • Nintendo Switch

After the announcement took place a little earlier than anticipated by many, the question now arises: What about the anniversary of GTA 3? In the run-up, October 22 was the safer date for new information about the GTA Remastered Trilogy. Of course, the speculation is now running hot and it is rumored that Rockstar Games will officially launch the new edition at the end of October. The company from New York would certainly cause a stir.

GTA Remastered Trilogy confirmed – Dataminers find logos and achievements

On the evening of October 5th, Rockstar Games decided to update the Rockstar Games Launcher for the PC. The developer from New York should have reconsidered that, because the fans have been going crazy since then. The reason? References to the previously unannounced remastered editions of GTA 3, GTA Vice City and GTA San Andreas were found in the code. If you go by the code name, the three games are developed with the Unreal Engine.

In fact, Dataminers have not only found mere references to the so-called GTA Remastered Trilogy *. The logos were already stored in the code. These have been given a shimmering golden edge. The addition “The Definitive Edition“Added. Almost a week ago, an official authority had already confirmed the existence of the GTA Remaster Trilogy. The Nvidia GeForce NOW Leak already hinted at the GTA Remaster Editions. In addition to the logos, Dataminers also found the icons for the desktop and the achievements for all three games.

GTA Remastered Trilogy: Achievements of all three titles expanded – When will the official announcement follow?

With the achievements of the GTA Remastered Trilogy, fans quickly noticed that Rockstar seems to have topped them up. In GTA 3 there are now 44 instead of 29 achievements, in GTA Vice City there are 43 instead of 34 and GTA San Andreas attracts with 48 instead of 33 achievements. The developer from New York seems to have taken over some achievements from the original titles. Some have been removed and some completely new ones have been added. According to sources from the online magazine Kotaku, the release should take place this November. With that, Rockstar should announce the GTA Remastered Trilogy soon. The anniversary of the GTA 3 release is still traded as a possible reveal date. This is on October 22nd and would be a suitable date for a reveal of the GTA Remastered Trilogy.
