The update is highly recommended for every Edge user. If you use the new Microsoft Edge under Windows, you can simply get the update as an auto update. The latest version has the number 95.0.1020.30, is already available from us in the WinFuture download center and can be downloaded at the end of this article. New features include support for progressive web application downloads (PWAs) and WebView. In addition, a new efficiency mode is launched, which is supposed to help improve the battery life of laptops. There are also some improvements, including for reading PDFs in the browser and for the collections.
Many details are not yet known about the individual security vulnerabilities. However, Google had issued a warning for Chromium. Microsoft said about the security-related part of the update: “Microsoft has released the latest Microsoft Edge Stable Channel (version 95.0.1020.30), which integrates the latest security updates from the Chromium project. For more information, see the guide for security updates.”
The following vulnerabilities have been fixed:
In the cited security guide, only the above-mentioned CVE numbers for the vulnerabilities have so far been published. The fact that little is known about these vulnerabilities is due to the fact that Microsoft does not include any detailed release notes at the start of the update, apart from the notifications for the individual security-relevant changes. In the past, further details only followed days after the actual update, as this was intended to protect users.
