If PC gamers have already been able to experience Splitgate in 2019, the game still has to be released permanently on home consoles and, to prepare for its arrival, is currently in beta everywhere: good news for the developers, this one seems to be a real one. success.
A week ago, we informed you of a new animated trailer for the deployment of the public beta of Splitgate: as a reminder, it is abouta frankly original FPS since it uses the portal mechanics (Portal) to integrate it into multiplayer games halfway between Counter-Srike and Halo. A hell of a mix of genres that had already been offered in 2019 to PC players, but which will experience a global release with updated content very soon.
In short, Splitgate is definitely a game that has it in its belly, coupled with a gameplay and a level design as permissive as they are intelligent. To calibrate the experience, the 1047 Games studio is carefully studying the beta attendance and has just communicated the figures: it was therefore downloaded by more than 600,000 people in just one week, and even reached a peak of 50,000 players simultaneously! For comparison, the first day of the beta had only connected 4,000 at the same time.
The general manager of 1047 Games Ian Proulx takes the opportunity to let go a few words of thanks, while reviewing the work accomplished:
I want to sincerely thank all of the players who have tried our game. From its humble beginnings as a student project when we were in college to today, where we are about to launch it over two generations of consoles is a dream come true for me and the result of incredibly hard work by our entire studio.
If your heart tells you, you can always download the public beta or just wait. the final release, slated for July 27 on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X | S, and Xbox One. Ah, and good news: the title is entirely crossplay.
