Despite a frankly reasonable recommended configuration for such a recent title, it seems that the very high end of NVIDIA graphics cards are having serious problems in the beta of New World. While most overheating (beyond 80 ° C) or even overvoltage (graphics cards are apparently under 100% demand) worries are more frequent on EVGA models, other RTX 3090s are not spared either.
These problems seem to appear randomly, both on the menu by adjusting graphics settings and in game. The general consensus, however, is that the RTX 3090s get carried away soon after launching the game. Some report similar problems, well than less alarming, on RTX 3080s.
Many owners of these high-end graphics cards have rightly been caught off guard by such problems, where titles that are much more resource-intensive like Cyberpunk 2077 or Metro Exodus do not pose any particular problems. Beyond graphics cards, processors also seem to be affected by these problems, with temperatures sometimes breaking through the ceiling.
While waiting for an official solution to these alarming problems by Amazon Games, one user advised to freeze the game at 60 fps, which seems to largely appease those power monsters that are the RTX 3080 and 3090.
