Cte d’Ivoire / Simone Ehivet Gbagbo: “Let’s give no room for disappointment and anger” (Speech)

Dear brothers and sisters
After 10 years away from his family and his people, President Laurent Gbagbo returned to us on Thursday, June 17, 2021, with a magnificent victory over all adversity and an international trial.
I bless the name of the Lord who, day after day, knew how to cover him with his assistance and deliver him from his enemies who were stronger than him. By His strong and mighty hand, God brought her back to us alive. He deserves that we bring up to Him our thanksgiving.

Dear brothers and sisters, President Laurent Gbagbo is finally with us. Like me, many of you gave him a very warm welcome. I thank you for it and I am very grateful to you.
Our common vision of a strong and sovereign nation, of a reconciled, modern, prosperous and open nation, of a nation filled with justice and fairness, President Laurent Gbagbo carries it with unequal brio even today.

This return was also the result of the agreement of the Head of State, Mr. Alassane Ouattara, to see President Laurent Gbagbo return to his country. I say thank you very much to him for that.
And I come once again to plead for him to continue to perform these strong acts of appeasement and reconciliation that all the people of Cte dIvoire are waiting for. Especially :
– Bring back to the country, Charles Bl Goud and all the many sons and daughters of Cte dIvoire, still in exile;
– Free civilian and military prisoners from the post-election crisis who continue to serve their heavy sentences;
– Free the many prisoners from the last so-called “third term” political crisis.

Beyond the affection, the friendship, the love and even, the attachment that we all have in the person of President Laurent Gbagbo, we must never forget that the great aspiration of the people is to see our country in Ivory Coast finally emerge. of its internal contradictions, its difficulties and its limitations. These people dream of a truly reconciled, developed and modernized nation.
The deep hope that this vision was able to raise in us still endures and neither wills nor cannot end.

Brothers and sisters, today, the time is favorable for the manifestation of Love with a capital A towards all fellow citizens, regardless of their ethnicity, religion or political obdience. The time is no longer for imprcations! Let’s give no room for bitterness, resentment, pain, disappointment and anger. Instead, let’s get up and look forward to the vision.
God is watching, He directs everything, He directs everything. Let’s not leave our place, let’s stay calm and keep our cool. The essential is yet to come.
Finally, I would like to take the opportunity of this address to express to you all my joy, my gratitude and my gratitude for the attachment you have shown to me on the occasion of the celebration of my last birthday.

I was famous in Cte dIvoire, in several African countries, in France, in England, in Canada, to name only these places. Even dedicated TV trays. Several wishes were sent by Internet users on social networks.
For all your attention and affection, I say thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I would like to end my remarks by inviting you to stay the course, your eyes fixed on the vision. Everything is fine.
May God bless you all, and bless the Ivory Coast!

Simone EHIVET GBAGBO
