The village of Châtillon-en-Diois obtains the label of the “Most beautiful villages of France”.
The Quality Commission of the Most Beautiful Villages in France met on Saturday July 3 to make a decision. And it is in favor of the request of the small village of Diois that it decided, “to reward his efforts“.
“Unsuccessful candidate a few years ago, the medieval city saw its efforts rewarded during its second attempt to reach the classification among The Most Beautiful Villages of France. The members of the Quality Commission thus welcomed the success of the developments carried out in the old town, while accompanying their decision with an invitation to continue work in favor of the quality of the buildings, the public space and the outskirts of the village.“, can we read on the site of the Most Beautiful Villages of France.
Châtillon-en-Diois thus becomes the sixth municipality of Drôme to obtain this distinction. Poët-Laval, Mirmande, Grignan, La Garde-Adhémar, and Montbrun-les-Bains are already labeled.
In Ardèche, two villages are classified “Most Beautiful Villages of France”: Vogüe and Balazuc.
