They are actors of sustainable development, sometimes even without knowing it. Craftsmen and independent traders will be able to benefit from 15 million euros of the recovery plan to carry out a free diagnosis of the taking into account in their activity of the challenges of ecological transition, announced Monday the government. The objective is to “measure the ecological maturity of the company from which will result a concrete action plan that the company can implement”, specify the Ministries of Ecology and the Economy in a press release.
In total, the envelope of 15 million euros will be able to finance 35,000 diagnoses and 10,000 support actions, taken in hand by the Chambers of Trades and Crafts (CMA), Chambers of Commerce and Industry. (CCI). Among the possible actions, figure in particular the search for financing, the optimization of their mode of production or environmental recognition approaches, details the press release.
“The companies which will succeed tomorrow are those which will have integrated the challenges of ecological transition into their strategy sufficiently early”, underlined the Minister of Ecology, Barbara Pompili, quoted in the press release.

Proximity circuit for supplies, reduction of packaging, fight against food waste… “Many craft businesses are sometimes without knowing it concrete and effective players in sustainable development and respect for the environment (…) however we must go further in our role as ambassadors of the green, sustainable and circular economy ”, agrees Joël Fourny, president of CMA France, the leading network of chambers of trades and crafts.
A third of the French recovery plan of 100 billion euros is devoted to the financing of the ecological transition. This investment will be in the form of aid to companies to decarbonize their production, alongside, for example, measures in favor of clean mobility and the thermal renovation of buildings.
