Double performance for the Tesla Model 3 which finished the first 6 months of the year at the top of the best sales of electric cars and in tenth place of the cars best sold to individuals, all engines combined.

What if the real winner of the ecological bonus of 7,000 euros was American? The Tesla Model 3 has indeed completed the first half of the year at the top of sales of new electric cars in France, just before the drop of 1,000 euros in this purchase aid since July 1. Aid that will fall again from the same amount on January 1, 2022, to 5,000 euros.

More than 5,000 sales in June

In total, Tesla has sold 13,084 copies of its Model 3, according to data provided by AAA Data. On the other hand, it is impossible to know how many vehicles were able to benefit from the maximum aid, of 7,000 euros until June 30 (6,000 euros since July 1), which only applies to cars under 45,000 euros.

In this context, Tesla had precisely lowered its prices to offer an SR + version of its compact sedan, with a starting price set at 43,800 euros.

Behind the Model 3, and still in the first 6 months of the year, we find the Renault Zoé with 13,084 units, followed by the Peugeot e-208, with 9,133 units.

Note that Tesla sharply accelerated its sales at the end of the semester: in June alone, there were more than 5,000 units sold. To ensure the delivery of vehicles, a delivery center was opened in Paris-Nord Villepinte at the end of May and must continue to ensure deliveries over the coming months. A similar center opened in June in Saint-Priest, in the greater Lyon area.

And France is no exception: globally, Tesla delivered more than 200,000 vehicles in the second quarter, a first for the American brand which continues to gain momentum.

In the top 10 for all engine sales

Another interesting ranking on the French market, that of sales only to individuals (and therefore excluding company fleets or sales to car rental companies) over the first six months of the year. In the lead, we find quite logically the last Dacia Sandero, with 33,951 units. The queen of low-cost is well ahead of the Peugeot 208, 20,455 sales to individuals, and the 2008, 15,909 units sold on this sales channel.

But the surprise comes once again from Tesla, which places its Model 3 in this top 10 of sales to individuals, in tenth place with 9,415 units (or 72% of its total sales in the first half of the year in France). A rather surprising positioning on such a high-end model and another sign of its success.
