A knife fight left one dead and six injured during a party bringing together several hundred people on Friday on the beach of Golfe-Juan, in the town of Vallauris (Alpes-Maritimes), we learned this Saturday from of the public prosecutor.
Police discovered the body of a 37-year-old man, killed by stabbing, around 5 a.m., in a street just behind the beach where the party was taking place, Grasse prosecutor Fabienne Atzori said, confirming information from Nice morning.
“We have no explanation for this fight”
Firefighters and police came to the aid of six people injured to varying degrees, according to Fabienne Atzori, all with knives. “At this time, we have no explanation for this fight, since the participants in the party all dispersed when the police arrived,” said the prosecutor.
The evening was organized on social networks and had caused noise pollution, denounced by residents from one in the morning. The police then intervened, but, observing “that there were a lot of people and that they were very alcoholic”, had deemed it preferable not to intervene, according to Fabienne Atzori.
