Consensus is very difficult to find. On Friday evening, the thirteen OPEC countries and their ten Russian-led allies parted ways without reaching an agreement on their production quotas. A first videoconference meeting had already failed Thursday.
The alliance hopes to reach an agreement at a new summit scheduled for Monday, but this week’s double failure shows how complicated it has become to get everyone to agree in a context of soaring prices.
