Season 4 of the election of the Most Beautiful Market in France, organized by the 1 p.m. newspaper of TF1 in partnership with Midi Libre, has just ended. Narbonne, the regional candidate, finished second in the competition, just behind Étaples-sur-Mer.
Narbonne will not be the most beautiful market in France. Not officially at least. The big competition organized for the fourth time by the TF1 1 p.m. newspaper, in partnership with Midi Libre, has just delivered its verdict this Friday, July 2. More than 3.5 million votes were recorded during this season 4. And the Audoise gastronomic institution came very close to the coronation, after finishing 5th in the 2019 edition.
Narbonne not so far from the title
It is finally the market of Etaples sur mer, in the Pas-de-Calais, which succeeds the city of Dieppe and takes the title of Most beautiful market of France 2021. According to our information, 23,500 votes separate Narbonne from the first place. But the city of Trenet still convinced 13.5% of voters to clinch a very good second place.
Last April, the halls of Narbonne won the regional ballot organized by Midilibre.fr. With 34% of the vote, they had won the right to represent the region in the great national competition, where 23 other markets across France were candidates.
