Mark Cavendish (Deceuninck Quick-Step) is decidedly impressive at the start of Tour de France. After his success at Fougères during the 4th stage, the Briton put it back on the 6th stage, arriving in Châteauroux this Thursday. A victory that reminds us of two others since the runner of 36 had already raised his arms in the city of Castelroussine in 2008 and then in 2011. The “Cof“thus signs a second success in this Tour de France, the 32nd of his career which brings him even closer to the record forEddy Merckx, who won 34.

“I just want to win stages of the Tour de France”
Mark Cavendish was necessarily very happy with his victory at Châteauroux, and if he still hopes to raise his arms, he does not put pressure on himself, being aware that his Tour is already successful: “It was an advantage to know this finish, I won in a very similar way. I had won here for the last time 10 years ago, it’s something very special. When we spoke this morning at the briefing, we were saying that there would be very fast trains and that it would be difficult. Alpecin had the best train today. More Michael Morkov cleared the way for me on the right side and I was able to take their wheels. I don’t think about the record or anything. I just want to win stages of the Tour de France! If I’m good enough to earn 50, that’s great. And if I win no more, it’s gonna be alright too”, said the Briton on arrival.
