For only a few days now, the Total Direct Energie Team has been called TotalEnergies. With this name, the first of this team under its new colors will take place during the Tour de France 2021. It will start this Grand Tour with a homogeneous group capable of shining on hilly and mountainous terrain. The main objective will be to glean a stage success that has been leaking from this training since 2017, and Lilian Calmejane winner at Les Rousses.

The TotalEnergies team as a stage hunter

The start of Team TotalEnergies takes place during the Tour de France. A competition during which his ambition will be above all to win a stage. To achieve this goal, this French team will rely as much on climbers as punchers-sprinters. To start with Pierre Latour, who will most certainly be the protected rider for the general classification, at least for the first part of the test. Depending on his condition of course, the Frenchman who won back during the Tour of Asturias could stand out in the Alps or the Pyrenees.

In another register, Anthony Turgis will also aim for his first success on the roads of the Tour de France. With the same form displayed as in the spring during the classics campaign, the French can be very ambitious. Also expected, even if he is not in the best phase of his career, Edvald Boasson Hagen remains a customer to shine on one of the stages. He is the only runner in the TotalEnergies composition who has already lifted on the Grande Boucle, three times (twice in 2011 and 1 time in 2017).
