Fatal brawl in Rouen: two minors indicted for “intentional homicide”

Sunday, June 13, 2021 in the evening, a major brawl between two rival gangs in the Grammont district, in Rouen (Seine-Maritime), cost the life of a 16 year old teenager. An investigation had been opened for intentional homicide, and entrusted to the Departmental Directorate of the Judicial Police (DDPJ).

“Counts of intentional homicide”

Tuesday, June 15, 2021, three people were taken into custody. On June 18, Rouen Public Prosecutor Pascal Prache indicates that a “judicial investigation was opened yesterday (Thursday, June 17, Editor’s note), counts of intentional homicide, aggravated willful violence, participation in a grouping in sight to commit violence ”.

Two minors born in 2005 were thus presented to the examining magistrate, and indicted. “One of them was remanded in custody, the other under judicial supervision with placement in a closed educational center (CEF)”, specifies the prosecutor. Investigations are continuing within the framework of judicial information, to clarify the context, the course of the facts and the involvement of each.

On Sunday June 13, 2021, around fifty young people fought with crutches, bats, iron bars and bladed weapons.
