French Under-21 Championship: The new quotas – News

The road commission of the FFC has changed the participation quotas for the road race of the French Espoirs Championship published last January (read here). The main change is the change from five to four riders per structure and the increase in the number of riders qualified by the FFC-DirectVelo classification.

Participation quotas :
-4 runners for N1s who have at least 4 French Espoirs in the workforce declared at the time of labeling, i.e. 100 runners,
-4 runners (excluding N1 already represented) for the Metropolis committees, i.e. 48 runners,
-4 runners (except N1 already represented) for the overseas committees, i.e. 12 runners,
-the first 38 Espoirs riders in the FFC-DirectVelo classification on June 30, 2021, within the limit of 4 additional riders per structure so as not to exceed the limit of 8 qualified per team,
-5 professional runners, from ProTeams or Continental, selected under the jersey of their regional committee,
-1 additional runner for the organizing committee, this year, the Ile-de-France committee.

The total must not exceed 199 runners.

Axel Zingle (CC Etupes), outgoing French Espoirs Champion, was automatically qualified but he is no longer Espoirs.

The road race for the French Espoirs Championship will take place in Lorrez-le-Bocage (Seine-et-Marne) on Saturday July 31 (see the program).
