Wallonia will send, from Monday June 14, invitations for young people aged 16 and 17 to be vaccinated. Some 84,000 people are affected, Walloon Minister of Health Christie Morreale announced on Thursday.
At the same time, a vaccination unit will be deployed for a week in Herstal, on the model of what was set up in Farciennes recently. Located in the La Préalle omnisport hall in Herstal, this branch will be open from 8:30 am to 7:30 pm on weekdays and from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturdays, on 2 lines. The appointment slots are open in the Doclr online booking tool.
Another initiative: the Soignies center is organizing a vaccination marathon from Friday 11 June at 7:00 a.m. to Sunday 13 June at midnight, non-stop. The inhabitants of the Province of Hainaut can either register with the code of their invitation on www.jemevaccine.be, or call 0800/45 019. If they are over 41 years old, the center will also vaccinate without an appointment. with the Johnson and Johnson Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Finally, given the crowds in some centers, full until the third week of June, residents of the municipalities concerned will be able to make an appointment more quickly in vaccination centers in neighboring areas. The Namur Expo center will thus be available to the inhabitants of Fleurus and Charleroi; that of Ciney open for those of Philippeville and Walcourt and the centers of Aywaille, Malmédy, Pepinster, Herve will be accessible to the inhabitants of different municipalities of Liège (Liège, Herstal, Chaudfontaine, Seraing, Neupré, Esneux, Sprimont, Anthisnes, Hamoir, Ferrières , Awans, Fexhe-le-Haut-Clocher, Flémalle, Saint-Nicolas and Ans).
Wallonia will have administered some 317,000 doses this week in its vaccination centers and branches. Next week, more than 305,000 doses are still expected to be injected.
