Kevin de Bruyne still suffers from his nose despite an operation. He is the only Devil who has not yet resumed training
Bad news for the Red Devils: Kevin de Bruyne will not play against Russia on Saturday in the Belgians’ first match at Euro 2020
Roberto Martinez not being categorical, it was during King Philippe’s visit on Thursday afternoon to the National Football Center in Tubize, on the eve of the Red Devils’ departure for Russia, that Kevin De Bruyne raised the doubt on his physical condition. The Manchester City player announced to the King that he “hoped to be able to play the second match” of this Euro 2020.
Kevin De Bruyne, has not yet recovered from his broken nose and left orbit during the shock in the Champions League final, and will therefore miss the entry into contention of Belgium against Russia. The midfielder should therefore logically not make the trip with the Devils to Russia.
Back to Denmark?
Arrived this Monday with the group in Tubize after a week of rest, ‘KDB’ could not resume collective training. Roberto Martinez had already laid the groundwork well, first saying last week that De Bruyne was very uncertain for Russia before adding a few days ago that he was in principle not relying on the player.
The tile should favor the duo Tielemans – Dendoncker who had seduced against Croatia to start the Euro. Belgium’s second Group B match is scheduled for June 17 in Copenhagen, against Denmark. De Bruyne has 6 days left to hope to find his way back to the land.
