This strong mobilization places the young people of the Capitale-Nationale ahead of the pack, among all other age groups, in terms of the speed of their response to the call for vaccination launched by the authorities.
Friday afternoon, the CIUSSS de la Capitale-Nationale indicated that 7,579 adolescents aged 12 to 17 had already received a first dose, while 23,655 had made an appointment to do so.
It represents 74 % of this age group, rejoiced the CIUSSS.
The mobilization of teens is all the more encouraging as the school vaccination begins only on Monday.
On Friday, 67% of the population of the Capitale-Nationale had received a first dose of vaccine against COVID-19.
If we add the proportion of people who have made an appointment, we are at 73 % of the total population, underlines the CIUSSS.
Only among adults, 78% of the population received a first vaccine. The proportion rises to 84%, by adding the appointments already made.
The challenge remains the vaccination of young adults aged 18 to 34. More than 8,600 appointments are still missing before the goal of 75% is on track to be reached in this age group.
Advancement of vaccination in 18-34 year olds
- 18-24 years old: 69% (3,108 must make an appointment to reach the 75% target)
- 25-29 years old: 68% (3,704 must make an appointment to reach the 75% target)
- 30-34 years: 71% (1,843 must make an appointment to reach the 75% target)
