At around 7:15 a.m., the emergency services were called on the A-15 motorway near Boisbriand for a collision involving two vehicles. According to initial information, the collision occurred during a lane departure maneuver, while the driver at fault was traveling at high speed. “He would have fled on foot immediately after the accident,” said Sergeant Ann Mathieu.
The two people in the other vehicle were taken to hospital. Their life is not in danger.
It would have taken a short time and a dog handler to find the suspect, a 22-year-old man from Saint-Eustache, who had taken refuge in a nearby street. First arrested, he was then transported to a hospital for minor injuries.
During the day, he was met by investigators and the legal process continues, confirms Sergeant Mathieu.
Analysis of the scene by collision investigators forced the closure of all four lanes of the southbound highway. After a few hours, the security perimeter was lifted and motorists, forced to take the Boulevard De La Seigneurie exit, were able to regain the motorway.
