It’s quite a surprising story. Samuel Brosset, 23, sparring partner at Roland Garros, has just been informed by a call that his accreditation as sparring has been withdrawn. “We didn’t hire you to set the mood but to play tennis,” he was told over the phone. The reason ? Having set the mood during Benoît Paire’s doubles match and posting a photo with the player. The scene took place on Friday, during the second round of doubles between the Franco-Monegasque pair Paire / Arneodo and the New Zealander Daniell and the Austrian Oswald.
Huge atmosphere throughout the match, and victory for Paire and his partner 6/0 6/4. To thank his supporters, Paire, at the end of the meeting, walks towards the group, gives them his towels and takes the phone of a friend of Samuel Brosset and immortalizes the moment. The young sparring, ranked 1374th in the world in singles then posted it on his social networks. It did not please the Federation who decided to remove him from the sparring list. An extremely harsh decision for this young player who came from Tours for the fortnight. (Léna Marjak)
