The Belgian record was held by Kim Gevaert since May 8, 2005.
Cynthia Bolingo literally smashed Belgium’s 400-meter record at the Montreuil athletics meeting on Tuesday evening in France. The CABW athlete completed the lap in 50.75, greatly improving the time of Kim Gevaert (51.45), who had held since May 8, 2005. This performance also allows Cynthia Bolingo, 28, to qualify for the Tokyo Olympics. The low was placed at 51.35.
Bolingo delivered a first-rate performance, setting the second European time of the year. Only Dutchwoman Femke Bol has done better (50.56) this season. His best 400-meter performance so far was a time of 51.69, achieved at the European Athletics Championships in Berlin on August 8, 2018.
