At first glance, the low speed of the cart traveling on the first lane surprised the driver of the van who hit it. The shock seems to have been violent. “The driver of the vehicle was ejected. He is seriously injured, but it is not known whether his life is in danger, ”explains the officer in charge of the intervention, Lieutenant Patrice Lietard, from the Dinaphi zone. The van struck the microcar which overturned.

Stuck in the vehicle, the passenger was also injured. He had to be extricated. The emergency services called on the medical helicopter from Bra-sur-Lienne to take the two people to a hospital in the Liège region. The driver of the van is unharmed.

The road police and that of Dinant intervened on the spot, to carry out the marking in particular. At first, the National 4 had to be closed to traffic to allow the emergency services to work. At the stroke of 4 p.m., a strip was nonetheless reopened. A pumper and an ambulance from the Ciney barracks went there, as did a team from the SMUR from Marche-en-Famenne.

In view of the seriousness of the driver’s injuries, the prosecution was notified.
