The alleged author of the racist remarks made this Sunday evening in front of a restaurant in Cergy (Val-d’Oise) and which panicked social networks after the broadcast of a video, was arrested around noon in Paris on Tuesday. He was taken into custody for aggravated violence and aggravated death threats
Aged 24, this man who does not work, at least officially in this establishment, seems to navigate between Paris, Herblay and Argenteuil. On Sunday, this temporary worker went to this fast-food restaurant on rue Traversière with the intention of having something to eat before joining the hotel, located next door.
Administrative closure of the restaurant for seven days
However, the fast food restaurant refuses to serve it because of the curfew. As he leaves, he attacks an Uber Eats delivery man who has come to pick up an order. He reproaches her for having put his music too loud and asks her to lower the volume. The delivery man complies but not sufficiently to the taste of the disappointed customer. He then approaches him and asks him to turn off his music. Faced with the refusal of the delivery man, blows rain everything, like racist insults.
A local woman, alerted by the cries of the delivery man on the ground, films the scene. She is then in turn the target of his hate speech. She will post the video on Instagram, which will quickly go viral.
Three complaints were filed and the prefecture issued an administrative closure order for the establishment for seven days for “the need for order, public tranquility”. On Monday, more than 150 people gathered in front of this establishment, most to express their anger at these racist remarks, but others with the stated desire to do battle with the manager, who received threats from dead.
