A Lisieux (Calvados), two police officers who intervened for the noise at night were injured Sunday, May 30, 2021. The investigators seek to establish if there is a link with this case, but other facts of violence towards law enforcement occurred a few hours later, still in Lisieux.

At 4:50 p.m. Sunday, the police and the firefighters are called to intervene on avenue du Président Coty, in the Hauteville district, for trash can fires. When they arrive, they realize that they have been handed a ambush. About twenty young people target them with mortar fire. A firefighter was injured.

18-year-old man arrested

Following the events of the night, two crews of the Bac (anti-crime brigade) crisscrossed the city. Broken to urban violence, they arrested one of the perpetrators, aged 18. He was taken into custody.

The Bac staff, supported by a canine unit, remained in the capital of the Pays d’Auge. During the night from Sunday to Monday, they arrested two miners who threw stones at the facades of buildings and committed various degradations in the Hauteville district. The device should be maintained throughout the week.
