A pedestrian was struck by a regional train this early Tuesday morning in Saint-Didier, on the axis between Rennes and Paris. Alerted around 6:15 am this morning, the firefighters could only note the death of the victim. It would be a man but his identity remains to be confirmed. The accident took place at a place called Le Petit Val, between two level crossings. An investigation has been opened to determine the circumstances of the tragedy.
The emergency services took charge of the TER driver but the latter was not transported. The ten travelers who were on board the regional train were taken care of by the SNCF.
Rail traffic was suspended for nearly three hours on this old line connecting Rennes and Paris, replaced since 2017 by the LGV. Only regional trains continue to run on this axis.
