The ecologist councilor is currently being heard in the premises of the judicial police of Valence, as part of the investigation into the conditions of attribution of the organization of the Tile Festival.

The mayor of Europe Écologie-Les Verts de Grenoble, Eric Piolle, was taken into custody on Tuesday. According to information from Dauphiné released confirmed with BFMTV, the ecologist councilor is currently being heard in the premises of the judicial police of Valence, in the Drôme, as part of a preliminary investigation for “favoritism”.

The investigation, opened by the Valence prosecutor’s office in 2018 after a report from the Regional Chamber of Accounts (CRC), relates to the conditions for awarding the organization of the Fête des Tuiles to the Fusées association in 2015 and in 2016. This is a popular rally organized each year by the city since the election of Eric Piolle in 2014. The CRC had concluded “to several significant irregularities” in the award of public contracts for this event.
