From Tuesday June 1 at 2:00 p.m. to Tuesday June 1 at 10:00 p.m.
A stormy degradation concerns the southwest of France from this afternoon, in connection with the presence of depressions and a mass of hot air over Spain. Controlled by a thalweg in altitude which approaches Portugal, the thunderstorms will multiply and rise towards France. The context will therefore become conducive to fairly strong electricity activity, temporary heavy rains and a risk of hailstorms in a western part of the country.
This Tuesday at 9 a.m., numerous thunderstorms are observed over northern Spain and southern Bay of Biscay. Precipitation remains moderate in these same regions. A few showers broke out between the Gironde coast and the Toulouse region.
This afternooni, the stormy activity begins and intensifies in the Pyrenees from 12 noon. It gradually extends over the entire mountain range then begins near the Aquitaine coast before going up towards the Charentes and Poitou.
In the evening, the stormy activity extends over part of the southwest but also over the Pays-de-Loire. This degradation always presents a risk of strong thunderstorms locally,
We wait during this episode :
– a fairly strong electrical activity.
– heavy local precipitation in 1 to 2 hours, with accumulations of up to 25 mm and corresponding on average to 10 days of precipitation in June.
– a moderate risk of hailstorms.
– sudden and violent gusts of wind up to 80 km / h very locally.
