ANALYSIS – The Head of State, who is already saturating the media space, is embarking on a tour of France to take the pulse of public opinion.
The spring offensive continues. After accompanying the French in the return to “normal life” after confinement on May 19, Emmanuel Macron launches Wednesday and Thursday in the Lot the first stage of his Tour de France. Two days to meet the French, first in the village of Saint-Cirq-Lapopie, the next day in Martel, to take the pulse of the country after the health crisis.

From strolling in the streets to meetings in village halls, from Republican lunches in discussions with the inhabitants, the President of the Republic wants to measure on the ground the weight of the expectations of the French. A Tour de France which is inspired both by the “big march” of 2016 to build its campaign program and by the “great national debate” of 2019 after the “yellow vests” crisis. The first preceded the presidential campaign of 2017, to measure the expectations of the French; the second came just before the European election in 2019, to patch things up
