A 22-year-old woman was killed by several stab wounds during the night from Sunday to Monday in Hayange (Moselle), her companion being actively sought by the police, we learned from the mayor of the city and of the Metz parquet.
“The victim received five stab wounds,” the mayor (RN) of Hayange, Fabien Engelmann, told AFP on Monday. “The firefighters were notified at 12:40 am, but the victim was already in cardiac arrest when they arrived on the scene. They stayed until 3 am, ”he said.
“The suspect is on the run, he is the victim’s companion,” Metz public prosecutor Christian Mercuri told AFP. The investigation was entrusted to the judicial police of Metz.
According to our information, the fleeing individual, Liridon B., a 22-year-old Kosovar national, is unfavorably known to the police for around twenty incidents, half of which involved violence (three with violence or threats with a weapon, two for violence in meeting, one for violence in an educational establishment …), but also cases of carrying a weapon, moral harassment and narcotics. Also known for several traffic offenses, the suspect was serving a sentence of home detention under electronic surveillance (DDSE), as clarified by the Metz prosecutor.
“What is sad is that the police station is opposite the place where the events took place”, regretted Mr. Engelmann. “But unfortunately the police station is closed at night. We had already had to fight to keep it in the town, but, at 6 pm, it closes ”. In addition, as specified by France 3, the child of the couple, a girl aged three and a half, would have witnessed the death of her mother through the window of the home.
According to the group “Feminicides by companions or ex” which spoke on Facebook, this would be the 43rd murder of a woman in France since January 1, 2021.
