Quebec reported a higher number of cases of coronavirus disease on Wednesday, 478 against 340 the day before.

Four patients have also lost their fight against the disease. So far, 423,813 cases and 11,485 deaths have been accumulated in the Belle Province. Hospitalizations declined (257, -2), following 18 admissions and 20 discharges. The number of beds in intensive care remained unchanged (66), following five admissions and five discharges.

Ontario, which is relying on a six-month plan to gradually deconfin, has reported 321 new cases as well as 10 additional deaths, bringing its cumulative toll to 598,431 infections and 9,862 fatalities. Of Wednesday’s 321 cases, 203 are linked to individuals who are not adequately vaccinated or whose vaccination status is unknown.

Proof that the situation is improving, the seven-day daily case average has risen to 366, down from 406 a week ago.

Hospitalizations in Ontario have decreased (215, -8), including improvement in intensive care (134, -4).

Saskatchewan (233 cases and 5 deaths), Manitoba (130 cases and 3 deaths), New Brunswick (57 cases and 1 death), Nova Scotia (26 cases), Newfoundland and Labrador (20 cases and 1 death) and Prince Edward Island (2 cases) also adjusted their numbers upwards on Wednesday.
