A vehicle fell on the rails between Caen and Rouen on Wednesday October 27, causing traffic to stop at noon. (©Sdis 76)

Traffic stopped on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, on the SNCF Caen-Rouen line, around 12:30 p.m., due to an incident involving Saint-Aubin-lès-Elbeuf (Seine-Maritime), rue du Maréchal Leclerc. A vehicle is indeed fell on the roof, on the railroad tracks, from a road bridge.

A slightly injured man

The driver, aged in his thirties “would have felt unwell”, indicates a judicial source. He would then have lost control of his vehicle, gone into the ditch, before finally falling on the tracks.

He was slightly injured and was out before help arrived. A supply catenary was cut. 13 firefighters with four machines went to the site.

“The specialized teams” were on site around 1 pm. The resumption of traffic is currently estimated at 5 p.m. Coach travelers are provided between Rouen and Elbeuf.
