478 new cases of COVID-19 and four additional deaths in Quebec | Coronavirus

Four new deaths linked to the disease have been declared in the past 24 hours. The death toll attributable to COVID-19 now stands at 11,485 in Quebec.

Since the last report, the number of hospitalizations for the province as a whole has fallen by two to 257.

In the past 24 hours, 18 more people have been hospitalized due to COVID-19, while 20 have been able to leave the hospital. Among those newly hospitalized, 11 were not adequately vaccinated, according to data from the Ministry of Health.

There are also 66 patients treated in intensive care, the same number as the day before.

At least 423,813 people have officially contracted the disease in Quebec since the identification of the first case of COVID-19 in February 2020.

Tracing operations continue meanwhile across the country, where 32,012 samples were taken on October 25.

Vaccination

More than 10,586 additional doses of vaccine were administered to Quebecers, bringing the number of doses received by Quebecers to 13,410,391, including those who were vaccinated outside the province.

According to data from the Institut de santé publique du Québec (INSPQ), 87.7% of Quebecers aged 12 and over have so far received two doses of a vaccine against COVID-19.

Worrisome contagion rate in Nunavik

There are currently 3,870 active cases of COVID-19 in Quebec and 476 outbreaks.

The epidemiological situation continues to deteriorate in Nunavik, where the spread of COVID-19 is the strongest with an active case rate of 860.3 per 100,000 inhabitants. Laval comes next with an active case rate of 69.9, followed by Chaudière-Appalaches, at 68.1 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

The Quebec average is 45 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
