Teardown of the new MacBook Pro reveals a great surprise

Several users have already taken their brand new MacBook Pros apart.

That’s it, Apple has finally launched its very latest MacBook Pro for sale! According to the first impressions of the early testers, the machine seems to be keeping all of its promises. Top-of-the-line performance, top battery life, exceptional ProMotion mini-LED display… Critics are raving about the new laptop.

Apple finally seems to have listened to the professionals who railed against the lack of ports, the anecdotal Touch Bar or the starving autonomy sacrificed on the altar of finesse. The new MacBook Pro is much thicker, with a very raw design somewhat reminiscent of Apple’s older PowerBooks.

New design requires, Apple has also completely revised the internal layout of its components. While the first models have barely arrived in the hands of the first customers, and now a user has already started to dismantle his new machine, revealing its secrets to us.

When you open the rear cover, you find all the internal components, perfectly arranged inside the chassis. Notice to amateurs: everything is perfectly symmetrical. There are two large fans on either side of the case, and, surprise, the batteries are not stuck! There are rather small tabs to extract them from the chassis and replace them easily, as on the old MacBook Unibody.

As for the keyboard, on the other hand, it is once again integrated into the chassis, and it will be necessary a priori to replace the whole in the event of failure. This should not be so annoying since this new MacBook Pro obviously includes the Magic Keyboard and its foolproof reliability. The days of the butterfly keyboard setbacks seem long gone.

Note that the leaker L0vetodream also cracked a tweet to show the innards of the 16-inch model equipped with an M1 Max chip. This one seems indeed very massive within the frame of the computer. This would therefore explain why models equipped with an M1 Max chip weigh heavier than those with an M1 Pro chip.
