Märkisch-Oderland: Firefighters find two bodies in the burned-down bungalow

Firefighters found two bodies in a burned-down bungalow in Buckow (Märkisch-Oderland) on Tuesday.

According to the police, the control center was informed about the fire in the building around 3 p.m. After the arrival of the fire brigade, the emergency services on site were no longer able to extinguish the fire. The building was burnt down to the foundation.

During an inspection of the fire ruins, firefighters found the bodies of two people. Two residents were registered in the house. It was unclear whether this was the case with the two dead and would now have to be determined by autopsy, it said.

There were also gas bottles in the building, it said. It is still unclear why the fire broke out.

According to the police, forensic technicians were on site on Wednesday to collect clues about the cause of the fire and a possible course of the accident. In addition, a homicide squad was called in. The criminal police are investigating serious arson.
