Republicans pass the symbolic milestone of 100,000 activists

INFO THE FIGARO – In the run-up to the LR Congress on December 4, party memberships are steadily increasing. In one month, they went from 79,181 at the end of September to 100,000 on Wednesday. Or nearly 25% in 4 weeks. Never seen since 2017.

It is a symbolic bar … and a political one. The Republicans have just crossed the 100,000 member mark on Wednesday, according to information from the Figaro confirmed by the party leadership. An increase of + 25% in barely four weeks: they were only 79,181 on September 25, during the internal vote to choose the mode of appointment of the right-wing presidential candidate.

The various contenders for Congress quickly understood the interest in their support being included in order to influence, within the party, the nomination of the candidate on December 4. An equation that did not escape Valérie Pécresse and Xavier Bertrand who both took back their party cards. The president of the Île-de-France region had slammed the door in 2019, while her counterpart from Hauts-de-France had left in December 2017.

Until November 16 to take the card

Since then, the presidential candidates have increased their meetings with LR activists by encouraging them to mobilize around them.
