Germany has so far made 7.6 million vaccine doses against Covid-19 from the manufacturer Astrazeneca available to other countries bilaterally.

In addition, there would be another ten million units that the federal government handed over to the World Health Organization as part of the international “Covax” initiative, said a spokesman for the Federal Ministry of Health of the editorial network Germany. This means that the federal government no longer has any stocks of Astrazeneca in stock. Vietnam received most of the vaccine directly, followed by Ukraine, Egypt, Ghana and Namibia. Overall, the federal government had promised to provide 100 million cans from various manufacturers free of charge.

This includes all of the ampoules made by the manufacturer “Johnson & Johnson” that have been delivered to Germany since October. Most of the distribution is to take place via the “Covax” initiative, for which the federal government is also making 1.6 billion euros available.

This message was broadcast on October 24th, 2021 on Deutschlandfunk.
