The number of infections is rising, the incidence climbs to over 95 for the first time since May. Germany im Corona-Autumn – the five most important questions:
When does my vaccination expire?
The vaccination certificate expires after one year. SPD health expert Karl Lauterbach (58) to BILD: “That is the provisional validity. But we urgently need to talk about whether this should be shortened. ”The vaccination protection itself is probably sufficient for most for a year or more – at least to protect against severe courses.
“But it protects different age groups from infection to different degrees and for different lengths of time,” says Lauterbach. “The duration of protection, especially for older people, has to be looked at again. At the moment he speaks everything in favor of a booster vaccination for everyone over 70. “
That has already happened in Israel. Since the beginning of October, the so-called “Green Pass” has only been valid for six months after the second vaccination dose. Then a booster is necessary.

Do we have to worry about the new subspecies?
No, not yet. In Germany, the proportion of “AY.4.2”, the new subspecies of the Delta variant, is between 0 and 0.5 percent.
Do we have any medication?
So far, two corona drugs have been approved in Europe with remdesivir and dexamethasone, and eight more are in the approval process. Great Britain has already started shopping.
