The case of attempted blackmail with the sextape of Matthieu Valbuena has been tried at the Versailles criminal court since Wednesday. Karim Benzema and four other men are in the sights of justice. And it is today that the public prosecutor delivered his indictment. Before the final verdict is delivered on Friday, 10 months suspended prison sentence and a fine of 75,000 euros were required against Karim Benzema. “It carries an image, a history, a reputation, all these values”, explained the deputy prosecutor.

The prosecution is also asking for 4 years in prison and a fine of 15,000 euros against Mustapha Zouaoui, described as the mastermind of the case, 18 months in prison and a 15,000 euros fine for Axel Angot, as well as 18 months in prison with stay and 5,000 euros fine for Younes Houass. Finally, the public prosecutor requested two years in prison, plus a 5,000 euros fine for Karim Zenati.
