On Tuesday, two climbers were climbing the Matterhorn, when they fell. They did not survive.

The tragedy occurred on Tuesday on the north face of the Matterhorn, in Valais.

On Tuesday, two climbers made a fatal fall as they made the ascent of the north face of the Matterhorn. The accident happened around noon. The two climbers, two Swiss aged 24 and 25, were roped up for the climb.

At an altitude of about 4,140 meters, the two men fell from the north face for undetermined reasons. They died on the spot, according to a police press release. The Public Prosecutor’s Office, in collaboration with the cantonal police, opened an investigation.
