Saturday morning, a collision occurred between a car and a cyclist. The latter was taken to hospital in serious condition.

On Saturday, shortly after eight in the morning, a serious accident occurred at the Pont de Sierne, in the canton of Geneva. A 46-year-old cyclist, coming from Veyrier, turned right when exiting the structure. On avenue de Thônex, he found himself facing a car, driven by a 38-year-old woman, which had deviated from its lane for an unknown reason and was driving in the opposite direction. The shock could not be avoided. “The cyclist was seriously injured and taken to the cantonal hospital,” said Jean-Philippe Brandt, spokesperson for the police.

According to a witness who passed by the scene of the accident shortly after, the road was closed and a helicopter was on site. According to him, the bike was embedded under the car. An investigation is a course, said Jean-Philippe Brandt. For the time being, the driver of the vehicle has not yet been heard.
