In an incident on a construction site in Wiesbaden, a construction crane fell over and crashed into a building. Because the crane was unstable, it had to be supported with heavy equipment.
A construction crane fell on a residential building in Wiesbaden on Friday. At least one building in the Erbenheim district was damaged, the fire brigade announced on Twitter. The crane was leaning unstably on the house. Several mobile cranes were brought to the site to bring the fallen crane back into a safe position.
In the early evening, the fire brigade announced that the crane was now hanging on the hook of a total of three mobile cranes. So it is no longer on the house.
The surrounding houses were cleared for the recovery of the crane. Residents were looked after in two buses of the Wiesbadener Verkehrsgesellschaft. Apparently nobody was injured. According to the fire brigade, however, pastors are on duty. There were traffic disruptions on several streets in the immediate vicinity. Why the crane fell over initially remained unclear.
