Nicolas Dupont-Aignan sanctioned for fraud in the ballot in the National Assembly

The deputy and sovereignist candidate for the presidential election of 2022, Nicolas Dupont-Aignan, was sanctioned Wednesday, October 13 for fraud in the ballot in the National Assembly. The Bureau of the Assembly sanctioned him by withdrawing a quarter of his parliamentary allowance for a month. The highest collegiate body of the Hemicycle accuses him of having voted on the case of the deputy José Évrard, member of his party Debout la France. The latter received the same sanction.

Nicolas Dupont-Aignan told AFP that he had received a delegation of votes from José Évrard last July, but a document was missing. The member for Essonne still voted on the housing of the member for Hauts-de-France, who is his neighbor in the hemicycle. The same goes for José Évrard a few days later, to whom Nicolas Dupont-Aignan had sent a delegation. “This is not about fraud”, defends the sovereignist presidential candidate, who evokes a “administrative misunderstanding”. These sanctions are very rare.
