Salzburg woman should act in the new team of three – after 22 men first woman in office.
After the surprising resignation of Karl Schmidhofer as ÖSV President, the President’s Conference of the Austrian Ski Association on Wednesday evening in Anif near Salzburg set the course for the future. The previous Vice President Roswitha Stadlober, who had already taken over the office on an interim basis at the end of September, is to lead the fate of the ski association, which has a large number of members, together with CFO Patrick Ortlieb and Secretary General Christian Scherer. Stadlober was elected as ÖSV President until 2024.
After 22 men, Stadlober becomes the first woman in office. The decision of the regional association presidents was unanimous today. The 58-year-old from Salzburg is to be officially elected President of the Austrian Ski Federation on Friday, October 15, together with her two colleagues at an extraordinary country conference. The former ski racer had replaced Schmidhofer as the longest-serving member of the executive committee after he resigned for private reasons just 100 days after his election on September 30th.
